On September 6, National Chi Nan University (NCNU) held an inauguration ceremony for its new Fast-Charging Shared Electric Motorcycle service. The initiative is a collaborative effort between NCNU, Neng Hai Electric Energy Technology, GreenRock Group, and ROPO Leasing.

University officials stated that the project aims to discourage students from purchasing personal motorcycles. This move is expected to alleviate long-standing parking shortages, reduce carbon emissions, and minimize noise pollution, thereby preserving NCNU’s fresh air and tranquil campus atmosphere. Additionally, the EV-50 electric motorcycle’s mid-to-low speed characteristics and affordable pricing model are designed to ensure the safety of faculty and students by preventing speeding.

Strategic Triple Alliance

GreenRock Group, long known for its expertise in solar energy and energy storage, has entered into a strategic partnership with domestic EV giant Neng Hai Electric Energy (4586) and ROPO Leasing. The collaboration leverages Neng Hai’s specialized manufacturing capabilities and professional expertise in charging station infrastructure. Neng Hai currently holds a comprehensive patent portfolio for EV charging stations, while its subsidiary, ROPO Leasing, operates rental outlets across Penghu, Xiaoliuqiu, Green Island, Kinmen, and Taitung.

Focusing on "Last-Mile" Regional Connectivity

Unlike the large-scale GoShare deployment in major metropolitan areas, GreenRock Group’s mobility division is focusing on regional management at the periphery of public transportation networks. By adopting a "regional sharing" model, the group is expanding its charging station footprint through the convenience of university campuses and their surrounding townships, offering consumers a new and cost-effective transportation alternative.

Future Outlook and Net-Zero Goals

This cross-industry collaboration between GreenRock and Neng Hai serves as a prelude to a deeper strategic partnership. The two companies plan to launch more regional shared electric motorcycle investment projects across various cities and universities—transitioning from point-to-point layouts to a comprehensive network.

Furthermore, the partners intend to co-develop EV charging infrastructure for cars. This will not only provide electric vehicle owners with more diverse options but also strengthen Taiwan’s overall charging infrastructure, contributing significantly to the nation’s Net-Zero Carbon Emission goals.
