The 2022 Elite Excellence Award has been presented to Yeh Meng-heng, Chairman of GreenRock Energy. Holding a PhD from National Cheng Kung University and boasting nearly 20 years of industry expertise, Yeh has successfully led his team in developing solar and energy storage investment projects, attracting international capital to fuel Taiwan’s green energy infrastructure.

Advancing "Fishery-Solar" Synergy and Energy Storage

Driven by the philosophy of "Fishery First, Green Energy Value-Add," GreenRock partnered with a subsidiary of Europe’s largest oil conglomerate last year to launch a 150MW fishery-solar coexistence project in Chiayi County.

The team is also making significant strides in the AFC (Automatic Frequency Control) storage sector. This includes a major transmission-grade project in Tainan with a grid connection capacity of 70MW (utilizing the E-dReg 0.5 enhanced system), scheduled for completion and commissioning by late 2024. Currently, GreenRock has accumulated nearly 50MW in distribution-level and 400MW in transmission-level projects.

Following its success in Taiwan, GreenRock is aggressively expanding its international footprint:

• Japan: Plans are underway to establish a local subsidiary to evaluate new solar and renewable energy opportunities.

• USA: The company is eyeing the California market. On February 20, the Mayor of Imperial County led a trade delegation to Taiwan. Facilitated by GreenRock, a solar investment seminar is expected to follow, aiming to spark a new wave of Taiwanese investment in overseas green energy.

GreenRock’s rapid ascent is credited to Yeh’s unique background. He is one of the few industry leaders with extensive hands-on experience in development and construction across the US, Japan, and Taiwan. His deep-rooted connections with domestic and international financial and insurance investment institutions position GreenRock Energy for a highly promising future.
