GreenRock Energy Launches 115MW Fishery-Solar Project, Projected NT$2 Billion Revenue Over Two Years

GreenRock Energy Chairman Yeh Meng-Heng (second from right) attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Chiayi 115MW fishery-solar project.
GreenRock Energy, a leading brand in comprehensive renewable energy, has partnered with Lightsource bp Taiwan Tianhe Energy Development Co., Ltd. to jointly develop the Chiayi Budai Fishery-Solar Symbiosis Project. The project has successfully obtained construction permits and is expected to be completed by mid-2026. With a total installed capacity of 115MW, it is projected to generate approximately NT$2 billion in engineering revenue over the next two years.
In addition to earnings from project construction, GreenRock Energy will acquire a 15% equity stake in the project, allowing it to recognize long-term, stable income from power generation based on its shareholding. This investment strengthens the company’s asset portfolio and enhances its long-term cash flow in the renewable energy sector.
Chairman Yeh Meng-Heng of GreenRock Energy stated that the project has already signed a 20-year fishery management agreement, which will provide the company with a stable and long-term source of revenue. The company is also actively negotiating follow-up operations and maintenance (O&M) service contracts and will continue to evaluate the inclusion of additional asset management projects. These efforts aim to establish a diversified revenue model and reinforce GreenRock Energy's competitive edge across the entire renewable energy value chain.
In promoting the fishery-solar symbiosis model, GreenRock Energy places equal emphasis on the construction of power infrastructure and the enhancement of fishery operational efficiency, while also fostering local integration. Its subsidiary, GreenRise Energy, has assembled a professional aquaculture team and plans to introduce ecological aquaculture practices to improve the economic viability of the fishery industry. Furthermore, the company has partnered with National Chiayi University to launch an industry-academia collaboration that covers smart aquaculture big data applications, the development of management apps, aquaculture consulting services, and post-operation environmental monitoring. The partnership also includes opportunities for student visits, research exchanges, internships, and employment, aiming to create a collaborative ecosystem between academia and industry.
GreenRise Energy is also actively implementing an AI-driven intelligent aquaculture management system. This system enables fish farmers to monitor environmental conditions and receive real-time alerts about anomalies through mobile phones, tablets, or computers. The integration of remote monitoring and automated processes helps reduce labor costs and farming risks, ultimately improving operational efficiency and enhancing the competitiveness of the aquaculture industry. Through this project, GreenRock Energy demonstrates its leadership in renewable energy and its commitment to sustainable development, technological innovation, and community engagement.
